Of Yoruba. A Heathen rescued from slavery. At Fourah Bay Institution. A Catechist. 1854, November 26, deacon, and 1857, January 25, ordained a priest by Bishop of Sierra Leone. Stationed at Abeokuta. 1862, October 23, died at Igbein. Translated portions of the Scriptures into Yoruba. (For further particulars regarding him, see Church Missionary Record, 1863, pp. 25, 26.) His son, after studying in England and Edinburgh, went out to Lagos as a medical practitioner.
