Editor’s note: An email dated December 11, 2024 from archivist Jacqeline Burrows tells us a little more about Eugene Willoughby:
I am writing to let you know that Eugene Samuel Willoughby, like several of his peers, was educated at Monkton Combe School, near Bath in Somerset, in 1879. He arrived at the same time as Jacob Vivour Pratt. We don’t have a record of his leaving date but believe he went on to CMS Islington, where he was ordained by Bishop Crowther in 1881.
