Of Aku, Sierra Leone. Colony-born Christian of the Aku Race, Ijebu and Oondo Tribes. At Freetown Grammar School and Fourah Bay College. M.A. Durham. 1858, Catechist at Kent, and 1860, Tutor at the Grammar School. 1863, March 15, deacon and 1866, December 23, ordained a priest by Bishop of Sierra Leone. Stationed at Pademba road. 1873, to England, and 1874, February 28, to Lagos. Minister of St. Paul’s Breadfruit. 1876, to Abeokuta, as Superintendent of Interior Yoruba Mission. 1880, Pastor of St. Paul’s Breadfruit, Lagos. 1900 Lambeth Palace Chapel assistant bishop for West [?] Africa. D.D. Durham 1900. Lagos 1900. 1917, died 18 May [?].
