Lomoro, Donatus

A Didinga, son of Auko and Naluk, Donatus Lomoro was born at Nahisinga, Chukudum, about 1938. After one year in Kit Brothers’ Minor Seminary, he passed to Okaru in order to become a priest. In 1961 he entered Tore River Seminary and later Kit and Lachor. He was ordained a priest at Moroto on Palm Sunday, April 6, 1968, by Bishop Mazoldi. Soon after he was among the first members of the Congregation of the Apostles of Jesus. After his professon (August 22, 1970) he worked in the Minor Seminary of the Society, especially as rector at Moshi and Bukinda. In December 1977 he was elected assistant general of the society, while continuing as rector at Bukinda. In 1979 he came to the Sudan and retired from the priesthood. He died in Juba hospital on July 18, 1994.
